My latest painting, titled "Sight & Serenity", captures a poignant duality: one woman, immersed in self-reflection and contemplation, with her eyes gently closed, contrasts with the other, whose direct gaze connects deeply with the viewer and speaks on behalf of both figures.
The muted tones of their head scarves and garments evoke a serene and tranquil atmosphere, emphasizing the harmony between introspection and engagement.
I feel that including multiple subjects in my portrait paintings can bring depth, narrative, and dynamic composition to the work, and it reflects my interest in relationships, interaction, or contrast between figures.
I am drawn to capturing connections—whether familial, romantic, or societal.
